  • Civil litigation
  • Representation before administrative bodies, like the BSEA, OCR, MCAD and LRC.

A unique feature of the SCM education law practice is that most of our attorneys bring prior experience working in and with public schools to the education practice.  The collective prior experience with various education related institutions is a major asset that allows SCM attorneys truly understand the challenges faced by public school officials and to provide workable solutions.  This collective experience is shared on a regular basis among the practice group, and helps us to respond efficiently to client questions.

SCM offers a variety of workshops for school personnel, including our annual series of Focused Seminars and specially designed programs for school districts help to educate school committee members, administrators, and staff on current and emerging legal issues.  Programs can also be customized to meet the specific needs of a particular school district.  These Focused Seminars and programs conducted for individual school districts are geared toward preparing school committees and administrators to face possible legal problems and to provide practical tips to minimize risk.
