Nimesha Perera is an Associate Attorney at Stoneman, Chandler & Miller LLP, where she practices education law, including special education, student discipline, and all other school-related matters.
Ms. Perera earned her J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law in 2021 and she is a member of the Massachusetts Bar. She also has earned a Masters in Political Science from Suffolk University in 2018 and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from SUNY Geneseo in 2014.
She began her career as an attorney at the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office as an Assistant District Attorney, working in both the District and Juvenile courts. During law school, Ms. Perera interned with the WilmerHale Legal Services Center’s Veterans Justice Project and completed co-ops with the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office, Russell Reynolds Associates and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Massachusetts. At NUSL, Ms. Perera was a clinic student with the Civil Rights and Restorative Justice Project.
Prior to law school, Ms. Perera worked at the Harvard Kennedy School’s Carr Center for Human Rights Policy as a staff assistant and interned at the European Parliament, Girl Rising, the Woodrow Wilson Center, and for U.S. Congresswoman Grace Meng.
