Justin Gomes is an Associate Attorney at Stoneman, Chandler & Miller LLP, where he practices labor, employment, and education law, including special education, student discipline and all other school-related matters.
Mr. Gomes earned his J.D.,cum laude, from Boston College Law School in 2017 and he is a member of the Massachusetts Bar. He also has a Bachelor of the Arts in History from Providence College. After law school, Mr. Gomes represented the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as an Assistant District Attorney in the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office. There, he tried dozens of cases before judges and juries, including crimes of child abuse, domestic violence, sexual assault, and other victim related crimes. Mr. Gomes has experience in complex investigations and he has practiced in the Juvenile, District, and Superior Court.
During law school, Mr. Gomes interned in the Massachusetts Court of Appeals, the Trial Division of Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office, and Partner’s HealthCare System. He was also awarded a Rappaport Fellowship with the United States Attorney’s Office.
Mr. Gomes has considerable experience in public policy and politics having worked in the legislature and on several political campaigns. He is a former member of the Vocational Technical Advisory Council for the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. Mr. Gomes currently serves on the Red Mass Committee for the Archdiocese of Fall River and he is a native of New Bedford, Massachusetts.
