Colleen Shea is an associate at Stoneman, Chandler & Miller LLP practicing education law, including labor and employment, special education, student discipline and all other school-related matters.
Ms. Shea holds a J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law in Boston, Massachusetts and is a member of the Massachusetts Bar. She also holds an M.S. in Education (specializing in Childhood and Middle School Special Education/Learning Disabilities) from Hunter College in New York, New York, and a B.S. in Integrated Marketing Communications from Ithaca College in Ithaca, New York.
After law school, Colleen was awarded the prestigious Skadden Fellowship. For two years at Disability Law Center, Inc., she conducted school-based abuse and neglect investigations and represented low-income students with disabilities in school discipline and special education matters
Prior to law school, Colleen worked at the New York City Department of Education first as a 7th grade special education teacher and then as a special education litigation unit legal investigator. Colleen also has legal internship experience at the Massachusetts Bureau of Special Education Appeals, the Massachusetts Governor's Legal Counsel Office, the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and private special education practice.
